Making lists is one of my favorite things to do. I have notebooks scattered across my apartment, in my desk at work and in a variety of bags for any time inspiration strikes. Whether it's a to-do list, a grocery list, gift list, list of ideas or, one of my favorites, a bucketlist, I'm ready to write.
Speaking of bucketlists, I was once talking with a friend about them and she told me about creating a more attainable version. At the time, we were probably 20, so she suggested starting a 25x25 bucketlist - meaning list down 25 items you want to complete by the time you turn 25. Going this route gives you a deadline, so rather than just writing the item on your bucketlist and thinking "someday", you're able to look at it and decide when and how. After turning 25 and crossing off a little over half the items, I decided that I should publish my 30x30 to encourage myself even more.
So, here we go:
1. Sleep in a firetower
2. Learn to surf
3. Climb a 14er
4. Visit another country
5. Become debt free
6. Spend 30 hours volunteering
7. Run a half marathon
8. Climb a 5.12
9. Throw a dart at a map & go wherever it lands
10. Learn how to play chess
11. Explore 30 National Parks
12. Sand boarding
13. Learn a new language
14. Learn how to sail
15. Visit Harry Potter World
16. Take my mom on her dream vacation
17. Write a book
18. Learn a new instrument
19. Ride a zamboni
20. Go skinny dipping
21. Have an extravagant girls weekend
22. Surf & snowboard in one day
23. Visit all 50 states
24. Live in a different state
25. Give flowers to 30 strangers
26. Cliff diving
27. Hike (at least part of) the Superior trail with my dad
28. Do the splits
29. Do an ollie
30. Go somewhere new every year
As you can see by my list, there's no item too big or too small. It could be something you've always wanted to do, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Do you have any bucketlist items? Take some time to list them out and think about what is holding you back from going after them? I believe in you!
Live big.
