Winter Favorites

Winter is the perfect time for all things cozy.

So cuddle up and scroll through my list of winter favorites.

Whether you're running to the store, heading to work or having friends over for an afternoon, these are some of my favorite clothes and accessories that ensure I'm ready for anything. Sweaters and cardigans are a huge part of my winter ensemble; along with fleece-lined leggings, socks, scarves and beanies. Despite winter being my favorite season, my hands don't do well in the cold (poor circulation) - so mittens are a must! And what's an outfit without the perfect pair of shoes - or in this case, boots. The boots below are two of my favorites to keep my feet nice and warm while I'm in the cold.

There's nothing quite like getting cozy at the end of the day. I don't know about most of you, but I'm not a huge fan of pants. Sleep shirts (or just baggy t-shirts) are typically the best option for sleeping. Though I did included my camo union suit in this list. My feet must be free at night, so I can't deal with socks in bed; but I'm currently obsessed with these slippers. Once I get home from work, it's nice to put these bad boys on to start warming up.

While you're trying to stay cozy at home, I find the best way to do it is by munching on yummy sweets. Kringla, cookies, mac & cheese (okay, that's not a sweet. But I love it so I'm going to include it any way) are crazy delicious. Match that with some hot cocoa - with the works - and you've got one happy girl.

New year, new me... Am I right? Winter is prime resolution season which means it's the prime time to read some inspiring books. I'm still working on my book list for 2017, but here are some books I'm excited to dive into; along with some inspiring stories I'd like to share with you all. With the lack of vitamin D from the sun, a lot of people feel blue during the winter season. Hopefully these books will help to encourage finding happiness and inspiration - even when the sun isn't shining outside.

Lastly, winter hobbies. As I mentioned earlier, winter is my favorite season. Even though my fingers die (a lot), I can hardly move sometimes because I'm shivering so bad (a lot), and my face hurts from the Midwest air, everything is so incredibly beautiful and I love winter activities. Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, ice skating and cross country skiing. As long as you're moving and dressed properly the weather isn't too bad - unless it's -40. If that's the case, just stay inside and watch some movies or something.

Live big.

(All the photos in the list were taken on my phone so they're definitely not the best quality. Sorry about it.)
