Fall Favorites

Fall is magical in the Midwest. Everyone knows it's about leaves changing colors, Halloween, football season, pumpkin spice everything and every girls' wardrobe suddenly becoming full of sweaters, leggings and scarves. It also means beautiful hikes, not getting eaten by mosquitoes and spending the whole day outdoors without feeling like you're melting. Ahh, what a wonderful season it truly is.

To honor fall, I'd like to share some of my favorite things*. I know these aren't exactly adventure based, but this is my blog and I can do whatever I want. Have no fear though, more travel and adventure blogs are coming soon! For now, take a look at some of the things I love for fall.

Favorite Apparel Items

These are some of my favorite pieces of apparel and accessories from my wardrobe.

Oh, almost forgot to include one of the most important pieces of apparel: socks! These are wool socks (well, technically, they're a blended material - but they included more wool than basically any other socks I could find without breaking my budget) which are awesome for colder weather.

Favorite Fall Drink Stuff

Warm drinks make my heart happy. Currently, I'm obsessed with my KitchenAid tea kettle and these are three of my favorite mugs. Check out my Pinterest for some yummy fall drink recipes.

Mug from a local artist at Pear Fair (an art show in Cedar Falls, IA)

Mug from Target

Mug created by one of my best friends.

Favorite Fall Books

Fall is the perfect time for thrillers. These are a few books that have gotten my heart pounding.

Favorite Hobby

I love wood burning. I've been working on some skateboard decks; and as you can see, the lion head one has been slightly used. Be on the lookout for more wood burning projects soon!

Live big.

*disclaimer: just because it sounds like part of an episode of Oprah doesn't mean any of you are getting anything.
